Did you know plumbing supply lines have a lifespan? Unfortunately, some owners have found out this the hard way when their supply lines burst and flooded their (and their neighbors) unit leading to costly repair bills.
Some plumbing professionals and supply line manufacturers suggest changing your supply lines every 5 years (or sooner in some cases). Even if your condo has copper supply lines, they have rubber cone washers that can, and do, fail.
We urge you to check all of your supply lines to make sure you don't have any surprises. Don't forget your washing machine hoses, too.
Make sure your units water shut off valve at the water heater is working. Don't force it if it does not turn, replace it.
While you are at it, you should check to make sure your Unit insurance coverage will protect you in the event you experience an issue.
